The Wise Donkey is a Sufi Tale that attempts to reinforce the unpredictably of nature karmic forces and how there may be always a way out of the life unexpected events. The story is constructed around an old donkey of Ahmed, a farmer, in a village on the edge of desert of sought east of Iran. Ahmed life is hard by planting water melon on a meager share of his water collected from high mountains by a series of wells that are collectively built with other farmers in his village. The donkey is the main character of this story. Ahmed love of his donkey. One day, he is forced to make a hard decision how to say farewell to his beloved donkey. It is the donkey’s love of life that illustrates there may be a way out what seems to be inevitable for the donkey. This story is based on folklores of Sufi Master Molla Naseddin and it is presented in English and Persian. This story has its origin in ancient Persia.
